Men’s Ministry at New City Church
At New City Church, the Men’s Ministry exists to help men grow in their faith, forge lasting friendships, and live out the Gospel in real, practical ways. We believe men are called to be more than passive attenders—they’re called to be wholehearted followers of Jesus who live boldly, love deeply, and serve faithfully.
Our mission is simple but compelling: to deepen our relationship with God, build accountable and supportive friendships, serve our families, church, and community, and take part in announcing the gospel of Jesus Christ as we seek the renewal of all things. We envision a community of men who are fully ablaze with a passion for Christ, taking bold steps of faith and encouraging one another toward spiritual maturity and mission in the heart of the city.
First and foremost, we want to establish a regular rhythm at New City through monthly men’s breakfasts—an opportunity to reconnect, share a meal, and hear practical teaching on how we can better serve God and one another. From there, we will be launching small discipleship groups where men can encourage each other, pray together, hold one another accountable, and—above all—cultivate a deeper, intentional dependence on Christ. As these groups become well established, our aim is to multiply them, creating space for more men to grow in community and faith.
Our leadership team, all three husbands and fathers, bring a diverse mix of personalities, passions, and strengths, but they’re united by a shared heart to see men grow in Christ.
* Tim Bos — is an outgoing, outdoors-loving dad who brings both energy and strong leadership. With a gift for planning and execution, Tim helps keep the Men’s Ministry moving forward with clarity and momentum.
* Filipe Fernandes — is quiet but thoughtful, with a love for all things tech. His dry sense of humor—and occasional eye roll—keeps the team grounded and smiling.
* Tony Spithoff — is a steady hand and an engineer at heart. A practical thinker who enjoys music, the outdoors, and time with family, Tony brings calm insight and a dependable presence to the team.
Looking ahead, we’re excited to create more opportunities for men to connect—whether through guest speakers, sports outings, or backyard BBQs—and to provide clear on-ramps for those who are new to faith or church life. We believe this ministry is just getting started, and we’re praying for God to do great things through the men of New City Church.
