Welcome to September!

Dear church,

In early August, we provided an early preview of fall 2026 at New City. In this September issue of our newsletter, I wanted to quickly recap that preview and add to it.

First, we are excited to welcome back three interns to our roster:

Ian DeJong is back to help with catechism and TELL (our English conversation café). Tyrel Luchies is back to help with young adults and general pastoral ministry. Anton Zekveld is back to oversee our youth ministry. Welcome back, Ian, Tyrel, and Anton!

Speaking of welcoming back, please be sure to welcome back our college and university students! Extend grace-filled interest, warmth, and hospitality to our students, as they embark on another semester of studies at our various institutions. And students, make yourself at home at New City, get deeply connected, and start serving in ministries like New City Kids (kids@newcityhamilton.com) or New City Youth (youth@newcityhamilton.com).

And there is no better way to get deeply connected at New City than to join a discipleship group.

Our “Intermission Groups” is our biggest and broadest small group ministry. They meet in people’s homes throughout the city, beginning the week of October 5th. Be sure to sign up quickly when signups open Sep 13th.

If you are a new Christian, or an experienced Christian who wants to learn the foundations of following Jesus, Life with Jesusis a great opportunity to grow in discipleship. Life with Jesus will take place over twelve weeks on Sunday afternoon at the church. Sign up HERE today

And finally, we are excited to start a new sermon series, Exodus: Redeemed & Holy, starting September 6. As we look at the rescue of ancient Israel, pray for the lost to be saved, for the gospel of grace to go deep into our hearts, and that we will become a holy, compelling gospel community. May the Lord show us that the story of Exodus is really our story, and he is still redeeming a holy people for himself.

Happy September, friends!

Moses
